Week 7 - Change the dataset & Rethink our plan

After we got feedback about our initial project plan from Bettina, our group started to think about our initial plan. Our original idea was to make a game. We thought to make a game that required the audience to engage with to achieve a better purpose in the beginning. But because of the limitation of facilities (the seven-screen in space gallery, which is most used for showing instead of interacting), and the data in the Edinburgh boundary dataset was extremely limited. We could not raise gameplay based on that and have been stuck in this step for very long. So we think the game probably is not the best solution. It seems that we have to change our project direction due to constraints associated with time, technology, and the exhibition venue. Instead, we conducted a specific analysis of the dataset "English ballads".

The dataset “English ballads” is a collection of 2,300 broadside ballads, mostly printed in England in the 19th century. It covers a wide range of topics. Most of the famous ballads are accompanied by text and illustrations.
